1. The service
Typing Coach provides a free web-based typing trainer, related educational guides, and optional features such as accounts and a public weekly leaderboard. We may change, suspend, or discontinue features at any time. We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access.
2. Eligibility and accounts
You may use the core trainer without an account. If you create an account, you must provide accurate information, keep credentials secure, and choose a display name that does not impersonate others or violate the law. We may suspend accounts that abuse the service (for example, automated score submission or harassment on public surfaces).
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Attempt to disrupt, scrape abusively, or reverse-engineer the service in ways that harm other users or our systems
- Submit unlawful, fraudulent, or deceptive content (including fake leaderboard scores via bots)
- Use the site to distribute malware or conduct phishing
- Violate applicable law or third-party rights
4. Intellectual property
The Typing Coach name, site design, software, and original written guides are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may use the service for personal learning. You may not copy substantial parts of the guides or rebrand the app as your own product without permission.
5. User content
Display names and scores you submit to public features may be shown publicly. Do not submit personal data you are not comfortable publishing. We may remove content that violates these terms.
6. Advertising
The site may display third-party advertising. Ads are provided by networks such as Google AdSense and are subject to their policies. We do not control every advertiser creative. See the privacy policy for cookies and personalised ads choices.
7. Disclaimers
The trainer and guides are for educational purposes. Typing speed results are estimates based on standard WPM formulas and the text presented in each session. We do not warrant that practice will achieve any specific job, school, or certification outcome.
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT, TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Typing Coach and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or goodwill arising from your use of the site. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for the service in the twelve months before the claim (currently zero for free use) or (b) fifty euros (€50).
9. Privacy
How we handle data is described in the privacy policy, which forms part of how we operate the service alongside these terms.
10. Changes
We may update these terms by posting a new version on this page with a revised date. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated terms.
